Coach Z talking about water safety to a group of young ladies at the Boys and Girls club in SE Raleigh

Empowering Water Safety: Coach Z’s Impact at the Boys & Girls Club

On May 24th, Coach Z engaged with the girls at the Boys & Girls Club in South East Raleigh, focusing on water safety—just in time for Memorial Day weekend, the unofficial start of summer.

During her talk, Coach Z introduced the young ladies to influential Black figures who have made a difference in the world of swimming. She emphasized the importance of learning to swim, handling oneself around pools and open water, identifying rip currents, and following safety guidelines such as wearing proper life vests and staying close to lifeguards.

The session concluded with an engaging game that simulated holding one’s head above water to breathe— it was a time!

We extend our gratitude to the SE Raleigh Boys and Girls Club for allowing us to share essential life saving knowledge with their young participants.
