On Sunday, July 28th, Coach Zion and her senior swimmer, Judah Hall, went to Richmond, Va for the 2024 USA Swimming Futures competition.
What is Futures? Definitions found online describes it as a summer swim meet that serves as a stepping stone between Sectionals and Junior Nationals for swimmers of all ages. It’s considered by some to be a “junior” Junior Nationals. And WE DID THAT!
In our first year as an unattached team, our Senior swimmer, Judah Hall, swam with gusto, coming in at a 24.52. The experience was surreal for him as this was his first time making it this far.
“It took a lot of grit and grind to get here. I’ll say, it’s not like any other championship meet – I actually made it!”
Our coach was beyond the moon. This was her first year of coaching alone and she realized her skill in coaching far exceeded her expectations.
“I’m very proud of how far we’ve come. Just last year people asked me if I wanted to do this full time and not even a year later, we’ve made it to Futures!”
With that being said, she and her team will be starting their new season soon! If you or anyone you know has a 6-18 year old interested in swimming for us please register today!
